Living in Florence means sensing the importance of the past breathing, feeling culture and art, which are a continuous source of inspiration, a never-ending flow of creativity that incite our everyday work. These concepts are the roots of our company, living in our history. The Pellicceria Cioni shop take place in the far 1925 on Ponte Vecchio in Por Santa Maria, where Bianca and Ferdinando Cioni opened for the first time a shop of tailer-made fur coat and leather goods. The first Pitti show and the hint of Prêt a Porter.
In 1948 the company moved to a new shop in via Ricasoli in from of Piazza Duomo, where the son Giancarlo Cioni and his wife Maria Grazia expanded the shop and the studio with new working departments: the cutting, the sewing, the finishing, the tailor-made and the atelier with the innovation of pête à porter. In February 1951 the fisrt Pitti showroom of history was held in Palazzo Pitti. Giancarlo and Maria Grazia Cioni took part to the event as emeriging stylists. The hand made tradition continues.
The two daughters of Giancarlo and Maria Grazia, Patrizia and Ilaria, entered the company (rispectively 1970 and 1982). The Heirs keep on going forth in the tailor-made activity, trying to bring new techniques to better the design, the style and light of fur coats. Recently, the doughter and the son of Patrizia, Martina and Niccolò, and Ilaria’s daughter Giulia, also entered the company to continue with passion the great-grandparents artisan tradition, to breathe new life into it. Today the Cioni Company is proud to rate many National and International customers, working with them side by side in fashion industry creating Hôute Couture fur coats. (photo: the Cioni family.
